International Association for Statistical Computing
The International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC) was founded during the 41st Session of the ISI in 1977, as a Section of the ISI. The objectives of the Association are to foster world-wide interest in effective statistical computing and to exchange technical knowledge through international contacts and meetings between statisticians, computing professionals, organizations, institutions, governments and the general public.
The International Federation of Classification Societies
Founded in 1985, the IFCS is a federation of national, regional, and linguistically-based classification societies. It is a non-profit, non-political scientific organization, whose aims are to further classification research. Amongst other activities, the IFCS organises a biennial conference, publishes a newsletter, and supports the Journal of Classification (JoC) and the Journal Advances in Data Analysis and Classification (ADAC). In addition to the participating Member Societies , the IFCS comprises a Group-at-Large, which serves the interests of individuals for whom there does not yet exist an appropriate classification society.
The International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics
ISBIS is a new international society and one of the newest Sections of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). It was founded in April 2005 during the 55th session of the ISI held in Sydney, Australia. ISBIS will facilitate the advancement and exchange of knowledge in business, financial and industrial statistics. ISBIS does this by promoting research and applications, and best practice; by enabling technology transfer; and by fostering communication amongst its members. ISBIS seeks to promote the value of statistics to business and industry and to support enabling activities, particularly in lesser-developed countries.
National Natural Science Fundation of China
National Natural Science Fund of China(NSFC) was established by Chinese government as one main channel to support basic research in China. NSFC directs, coordinates and financially supports basic research and applied basic research, identifies and fosters scientific talents, promotes science and technology, and pushed ahead economic and social development in China.NSFC supports activities of national professional science foundations, and provides them with its coordination and guidance in their plans and decisions of research programs; It also develops cooperative relations with science foundations and relevant scientific organizations in other countries and regions, and conducts active international scientific cooperation and exchange.
